Kapela Polonica plays Telemann – The first CD
The group, existing 2015, has just recorded its first album. It is entirely filled with works by Georg Phillip Telemann, who had a special relationship with Poland. Holidays in Pszczyna, trips to Krakow and Warsaw, and several years of service to the Polish-Saxon family of Promnitz resulted in many works inspired by Polish music.
“Telemann Year” encouraged the band to undertake a musical travel through the composer’s works. The musicians were delighted to discover Telemann’s unique cantatas, composed for just this one line-up. The result of this trip is a record with three sacred cantatas for soprano, recorder and basso continuo. You can also hear Telemann’s Trio Sonata for recorder, viola da gamba and harpsichord.
The publisher is Ars Sonora.
